According to reports, five women working for an NGO were gang-raped at gunpoint in Jharkhand on Tuesday. The women went to a village there to promote awareness on human trafficking and migration. While performing a street play, they were forcibly taken away by a group of men and gang-raped.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has reportedly requested the Jharkhand Director General of Police to take stringent action against the accused. NCW has also formed a three-member team to probe the case.
Reportedly, the police have identified the accused and initiated a search to nab them.
