A five-day-old baby girl was found abandoned inside a local train in Churchgate, Mumbai on Monday evening. The child was found by commuters in the handicap compartment of the train and the Government Railway Police (GRP) officers were immediately informed.
The girl was weak and had to be admitted to a hospital. A case has been filed and the baby's parents are being searched for by the police.
A GRP officer reportedly said, "We are trying to find out who left the child in the compartment. We are also trying to scan the CCTV recordings of all stations to find out who boarded the train carrying the child."
