Farmers In This State Are Using Alcohol For Cultivation Of Potatoes; Here's Why
Home > India newsThe agriculture sector has been one of the major issues when it comes to election in India. Farmer issues have made headlines ever since State Assembly Elections 2018 results were announced and Congress governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh announced farm loan waivers.
However, a rather strange incident is being reported from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr. According to a report in Times Now, farmers in the area are using alcohol for cultivation of potatoes and using it as “medicine”.
With no scientific explanation that using spirits can boost cultivation, the trend has left agriculturalists baffled. Botanists have also urged farmers to refrain from the practice.
