Facebook on Wednesday announced that it will train 60,000 Indian women on safe usage of internet. It has reportedly entered into a partnership with the National Commission for Women (NCW) to launch a digital literacy programme.

The training will be conducted in the language of the locals. The acting chairman of NCW, Rekha Sharma in a statement reportedly said, "With more women going online, NCW has witnessed a surge in cybercrime related complaints registered at the Commission in the past three years. This trend is worrying. We have to ensure that while online, they feel safe and secure on the Internet."
