Drunk Software Engineer Rams Car and Kills 2 People Trying to Take Selfies!

A software employee from Cognizant, reportedly drunk, rammed his car against two vehicles on the newly opened flyover at Biodiversity park, Gachibowli, killing two people who were taking selfies and injuring four on Sunday.

The accused identified as 28-year-old P Abhilash was returning from a party in Langar Houz along with his friends. The deceased, Vamsi and Praveen, had parked their bikes on the left side of the flyover and were taking pictures. Abhilash was driving at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle.

After the incident, Abhilash and his friends tried to escape from the spot. However, the locals caught Abhilash and handed him over to the police, while his friends escaped.

“The motorist abandoned his bike and stepped aside to safety. The car then crashed into Vamsi and Praveen, who parked their bike close to the railing, and two other bikers. Another man who was talking over phone was also hit,” Raidurgam sub-inspector A Muralidhar was quoted as saying by TOI.

Raidurgam police have registered a case under section 304-A (negligence causing death) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) under Abhilash. During the investigation, Abhilash denied that he was driving the car but later confessed.
