According to Mumbai Mirror reports, the decision came after a Tik-Tok video made inside the premise of Delhi’s Jama Masjid went viral. The video shows two foreign girls dancing inside the mosque and boys having fun inside the premises by making videos based on film songs. The video created a fresh controversy within the mosque’s committee.
This careless act has forced the mosque’s committee to ban the entry of tourists inside the mosque. The mosque committee has decided to permit people only for prayers, adds media reports.
Further according to India Today, when asked about the video, the PRO of Jama Masjid claimed that the video was very old and that it was being circulated to create controversy. "The video is very old. It is being circulated to create controversy," the PRO said.
