A family of 11 - seven women, two men and two teenagers, were found dead in their house in Delhi. The bodies were reportedly found hanging, blindfolded and mouths taped. Some bodies even had their legs and hands tied together.
While it has not yet been confirmed as to whether it is a case of mass suicide or mass murder, handwritten notes have been found by the police that has given a new direction to the case. The notes contained how one can attain salvation and how the human body is temporary. One of the notes reportedly read, "The human body is temporary and one can overcome fear by covering their eyes and mouth."
The Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar reportedly said, "We have found handwritten notes detailing how hands and legs are to be tied and are quite similar to the manner in which the bodies of 10 persons were found. They are exhaustive notes and we are studying them."
According to the neighbours, the family was religious. The police are currently looking into any possible links the family had with occult practitioners and godmen. Postmortem results are being awaited to shed light on whether one of the members killed the rest and committed suicide or if all were a part of the suicide mission.
