Man hypnotises woman and cheats her off Rs 4,000
Home > India newsA woman from Assam was allegedly cheated of Rs 4,000 by a man who hypnotised her. The man also threatened the woman that her mother will die in a fortnight if she refused to give him money.
Barkha Hazarika had opened the door to the accused, who claimed that he was collecting money for a religious ceremony. Hazarika then proceeded to give him Rs 200, asked him to keep Rs 50 and return the rest. However, he kept all the money and came inside.
The accused then performed a special prayer following which Hazarika claimed that she went into a trance. Hazarika started following his instructions. She was made to go to the nearest ATM kiosk where she withdrew Rs 3,100 and gave it to him.
The man dropped the woman back at her house and left. It was only then Hazarika realised what had happened. She then approached the police and filed a case against him.
