Couple Dupes Jeweller By Giving Him Money From "Entertainment Bank of India"
Home > India newsIn a rather hilarious instance, a couple duped a jeweller in Ludhiana of Rs 1.90 lakh by giving him fake currency notes of 'Entertainment Bank of India'. The couple have given the fake currency for buying 56 grams of gold jewellery.
The owner of the store Shyam Sunder Verma said that he only came to know of the fake currency notes when the couple left the shop.
"A couple came and showed their interest to buy gold jewellery. Once the price was calculated, they handed me notes wrapped in a polythene bag and left in a hurry. After they left, I discovered the notes to be fake. The notes had 'Entertainment Bank of India' written on it in place of Reserve Bank of India," Mr Verma said.
The distraught owner said how he took years to build this business and that he doesn't know how he will recover from this loss.
While investigating the CCTV footage, police found that the couple had arrived in a car which did not even have a registration plate. An FIR has been filed in the case, and police are on the lookout for the couple.
