Home > News Shots > India newsAn FIR was filed against Yoga Guru Ramdev, Patanjali CEO Acharya Balkrishna, and three others for launching the ‘Coronil’, which was claimed to be treating the coronavirus. The case filed alleges the company for misleading people during a global pandemic.
After the product was launched, the Ayush Ministry asked them to submit all information on its trial and also banned them from advertising the drug as a cure for the virus. On Friday the FIR was filed in Jaipur’s Jyoti Nagar Police station against Acharya Balkrishna, Baba Ramdev, scientist Anurag Varshney, NIMS Chairman Balbir Singh Tomar and Director Anurag Tomar as well for propagating the drug as a corona cure.
"FIR was filed against five people, including Ramdev for indulging in misleading propagation of Coronil," said the police. The five, have been charged under various sections of the IPC including Section 420 (Cheating).
