COVID19 Vaccine: New Joint PLEDGE to be taken by Vaccine Makers? Here's what You Need to know!

Multiple Coronavirus vaccine developers such AS Pfizer Inc, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna Inc are planning to issue a public pledge not to seek government approval until their vaccine candidates are proven to be completely safe and effective. 

According to the Wall Street Journal’s report, the companies are planning to pledge to adhere to advanced scientific and ethical standards while conducting the clinical trial during manufacturing. 

The report also added that these companies might issue pledge for the soon by next week. 

The news is coming at a time when many concerns regarding the political pressure of releasing a vaccine ahead of November 3 has surfaced.  Many medical experts are afraid that the vaccine developers should not undermine the safety and effectiveness of the potential vaccine for the novel coronavirus. 

“White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Thursday that even though the stakes are high for President Donald Trump, who is squaring off against former Vice President Joe Biden, there is no political pressure on the U.S. health regulator to quickly approve a vaccine,” NDTV reported.
