A policeman has been awarded a honeymoon trip after he caught hold of a mobile phone thief following a hot pursuit in a bike on Thursday. Police constable K E Venkatesh working with the Bellandur Police Station in Bengaluru was posted near Big Bazaar on Sarjapur Road heard cries for help and spotted four thieves speeding in two scooters.
He chased them for four kilometres and managed to nab one of them. In the hot pursuit, Venkatesh sustained injuries on his hands and knees and is recuperating at a hospital.

Deputy commissioner of police, Whitefield, Abdul Ahad, offered the honeymoon trip after he came to know that Venkatesh was recently engaged and is set to tie the knot on November 2.
