The Wildlife SOS team rescued three cobras from three different places in Delhi on Wednesday following monsoon rains in the capital. The team rushed to Lohit Hostel of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) after receiving a call and rescued the reptile carefully.

The team safely rescued another 4-foot long cobra wandering outside the canteen at a government senior secondary school in Laxmi Bai Nagar. In another incident in the MCD Health Centre in Badli Village, the Wildlife SOS team safely carried out a 5-foot long cobra from under a cupboard in the medical supply room after 30 minutes’ efforts.

The team has been receiving calls since the monsoon rains started. Wasim Akram, Manager, Wildlife SOS Special Projects, reportedly said that snakes come out of their burrows in search of rodents and lizards after their homes underground get destroyed due to flooding.

Reportedly, the three snakes under observation now will be released into forest soon.
