A 32-year-old engineer, working with Google in Hyderabad, was beaten to death by a mob over rumours of child-lifting in Bidar district of Karnataka on Friday, say reports. Three others were also reportedly beaten up and were admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad.
The incident took place when Mohammed Azam Ahmed, the deceased, was was travelling to Handikera village in Aurad taluk for a social function. He was accompanied by Noor Mohammed Mohammed Salman and a Qatari national named Salham Eidal Kubaisi.
Police reportedly said that 30 people, along with three people who spread child-lifting rumours on WhatsApp, were arrested in connection with the mob lynching.
