Chennai: Wife runs away with man's jewels, cash within few weeks of marriage

One Venkatraman of Villivakkam married one Ramanna who claimed to be from Andhra Pradesh after meeting on a matrimonial site.

Venkatraman had divorced his wife of 18 years while Ramanna claimed to be an orphan.

Just a few weeks after marriage, Venkatraman noticed that jewels and cash worth Rs 80,000 were missing from the house but chose not to speak to Ramanna about the same.

However, he grew suspicious after Ramanna made a trip to her hometown and began dodging his phone calls.

Based on his complaint, Villivakkam police have registered a case and are investigating further.
