According to reports, a 22-year-old tourist from Chennai died at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar after being injured in stone pelting. R Thirumani was hit by stones during anti-government protests in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district, say reports. The youth was reportedly admitted to the hospital with a head and nose injury that he received in Narbal.
Police also reportedly said that another girl from Handwara was also injured in stone pelting on Srinagar-Gulmarg road near Narbal on Monday. An FIR has been filed and police have launched an investigation to nab the stone-pelters.
We’ve killed a tourist by throwing stones at the vehicle he was travelling in. Let’s try and wrap our heads around the fact that we stoned a tourist, a guest, to death while we glorify these stone pelters & their methods.
