CBI arrests rape-accused BJP MLA

The CBI on Friday reportedly arrested BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The victim reportedly attempted suicide before the residence of CM Yogi Adityanath alleging rape by Sengar, his brother and others. Later, the girl’s father died in police custody after being assaulted by Sengar’s brother Atul in the presence of police. Autopsy report suggested 14 injuries in his body, say reports. Three cases have been registered against the MLA, who is now being questioned by the CBI.
