According to reports, nobody has bid so far for the government held Air India. The bids for Air India close on Thursday, with not a single offer.

 

Civil Aviation secretary RN Choubey reportedly told that they have no plan to extend the deadline for bidding. Due to poor response, the deadline was already extended from May 14 to May 31.

 

The Air India offer includes 76 percent ownership of Air India Ltd, 100 percent stake in Air India Express Ltd and 50 percent Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt. Ltd. Reportedly, Air India has been in a bailout since 2012, out f which it has received Rs 26,545 crore as equity support.
