According to the Delhi police, at least one member of the Burari family tried to escape during their last moments. The Burari mass suicide that took place on July 1 is one of the strangest cases India has ever seen. A family of 11 was found hanging to death at their house in Burari, Delhi. Evidence points to a mass suicide due to a religious ritual that went wrong.

With latest investigations, it has been found that 50-year-old Bhavnesh Bhatia had tried to escape at the last moment. Bhavnesh's hands were found loosely tied, which experts believe is a form of him trying to untie himself.

Bhavnesh's hands were also found in the air near his throat. Experts suggest that even though his feet were on the ground, his struggles to escape tightened the grip of the noose around his neck leading to his death.
