40 dead due to thunderstorms in Bihar, UP and Jharkhand

According to reports, 20 people died and many others were injured in thunderstorms that lashed through parts of Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh for the past 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.

Eleven people were killed in various parts of Jharkhand on Sunday, taking the total death toll in the state to 22.

Reports suggest that several parts of Jharkhand have been witnessing torrential rainfall with high-velocity winds since Sunday.
