Home > News Shots > India newsWhile the spread of the novel coronavirus has intensified in India, a rather shocking news has surfaced. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus infection.
He had announced the same by tweeting it earlier this afternoon. He has been admitted to a hospital as per the advice of the doctors but he claims that his health is fine.
“On getting the initial symptoms of corona, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors,” he tweeted. He has also further requested those who came in close contact with him recently, to isolate themselves and also check if they are positive for the virus.

Several political party leaders and ministers have been testing positive. Some have reportedly succumbed to the disease as well. Tamil Nadu's Governor, Banwarilal Purohit has also tested positive for the virus today, August 2. He is however, stable and under home isolation.
