According to a report on the Economic Times, e-commerce service company Amazon India has laid off nearly 60 employees last week and more people are likely to get fired as the company has put 25% more employees when compared with the last year on the performance improvement plans (PIPs).
Amazon has reportedly confirmed the layoffs stating that its part of the company's global restructuring to manage their resources efficiently. However, it also clarified that it currently has over 4,000 job openings for various positions in India and is looking to hire for these roles.
