The 34-year-old actor was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. Initial investigation reveal that he died by Suicide.
The initial reports from police confirm that the actor was suffering from depression over the past six months.
His viscera samples will be sent to the forensic science laboratory for chemical analysis.
Reportedly, two cooks, a housemaid and an art designer friend were present at Sushant’s house when the incident happened. As per media reports, the actor had woken up early and called for juice from his cook, following which he went back to his bed around 10:00 am and locked himself up in order to take rest. After knocking the door for a couple of times almost an hour later, the cook and others who were present grew suspicious. His friend rang Sushant’s phone but it went unanswered. Since they did not receive any response from the other side, they called Sushant’s sister Neetu who asked them to call a locksmith.
“Once the locksmith arrived, the door was opened post 12pm and they found him hanging by the fan using his kurta. He was immediately pulled down. Police and doctors were immediately called after which he was declared dead,” CNN News 18 reported.
Sushant’s family members arrived in Mumbai from Patna for his funeral on Monday. The Police have not recovered a note from his residence and hence the reason behind the apparent suicide has not come to light yet.
Police have recovered some items such as medical records for investigation.
Sushant’s death has shocked celebrities, politicians, sportspersons and fans across the country. People expressed their grief and mourned his loss on social media platforms.
