The moment of a mother gorilla kissing her newborn baby for the first time was caught on camera and the video is going viral on social media. Calaya, a western lowland gorilla at the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Washington DC, is seen kissing her son repeatedly while lovingly holding him. The newborn was named ‘Moke’, which means “junior” or “little one” in Lingala, a language spoken throughout the northwestern part of Democratic Republic of Congo.
