The film won Oscars in 6 categories: Best Sound, Best Original Score, Best Product Design, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.

DNEG is the company that did the visual effects work for the Dune movie. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, the company's CEO is Namit Malhotra from India. He is the son of Bollywood producer Naresh Malhotra and the grandson of cinematographer MN Malhotra.

Formerly known as Double Negative, DNEG was acquired by Namit in 2014. So far, the company has won the Best Visual Effects Award for six films: Inception, Interstellar, X Mishina, Blade Runner 2049, First Men and Tenet. DNEG is currently winning an Oscar for Dune.
