TCS has Gained a Contract to build TN Govt's 'Ease of Doing Business' Portal - How it is Going benefit Employees?

Leading IT Major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has bagged a contract with Guidance Tamil Nadu recently. Guidance Tamil Nadu is known for being the first point of interface for industrial investors who are looking for investment opportunities in the state. They are set to introduce a new single- window portal that will be shifting around 160 ‘government- to- business' services online. 

According to a senior member at Guidance, the new portal is likely to be introduce its new portal in the next six to eight months. 

“We have already made several of the government to-business services online. Once the new portal is unveiled, it will offer 180-plus services online, enabling Tamil Nadu to become the most transparent state, but also push its rank in Ease of Doing Business much higher,” Neeraj Mittal, MD and CEO, Guidance told Times of India. 

It is important to note that Tamil Nadu was placed 14th in the latest Ease of Doing Business rankings for Indian states. 

“Most of the targeted services will be ready by December itself. The processes are already on and the portal will be completely ready in about six to eight months. While one can aspire to place the state as much higher as possible, it will be suffice to say at present that when the Ease of Doing Business rankings come next time, Tamil Nadu will be ranked much higher than what it is now,” he added.
