Two-time World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is loved and adored all over the world gave his fans a shock on August 15 when he announced his retirement from International cricket. Ever since the news of his retirement went viral, fans have been expressing their love and wishes to him.

MS Dhoni and Infosys Share BIG Similarities Between Each Other; Founder Reveals, Employees Excited!

Among most of his fans, one of the country's leading Information technology (IT) firm Infosys-founder Narayana Murthy, wrote a long piece on the cricketer who highlighted how 'every Indian identified with Dhoni'.

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy shared a twist of destiny in a column in The Times of India (ToI), talking about the similarities between the two big names- Infosys and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were both born on July 7, 1981.

"There was something more than just performance that Dhoni brought to the table. He ignited the minds and raised the aspirations of 1.3 billion Indians – rural and urban, rich and poor, sophisticated and rustic, highly educated and illiterate. Every Indian identified with Dhoni. I have seen my sister, friends, driver and security guards praying for Dhoni’s success. After all, he was the cynosure of every Indian. 'If these seven people could do it, any Indian can do it' was how I used to emphasise the ordinariness of the Infosys founding team. Like Infosys, Dhoni too demonstrated that people from ordinary mofussil middle-class backgrounds can succeed in today’s India if they have the skill, if they work hard, and if they have high aspirations. Interestingly, both Dhoni and Infosys were born on July 7, 1981!," Murthy wrote.

Further talking about the leadership lessons that corporate India can learn from Dhoni, the column said; "The first responsibility of a leader is to craft a grand vision, articulate it, and raise the aspiration, confidence, pride, hope and enthusiasm of his people. Dhoni did it to perfection. Who can forget Dhoni willingly sharing his day of glory with Sachin Tendulkar and Gary Kirsten while performing the victory lap after winning the World Cup in 2011?"

Highlighting about how Dhoni was called Captain Cool for his ability to remain calm, Murthy in his piece further wrote; "A competent leader remains calm but plans his next move well in the hour of crisis. The equanimity that Dhoni demonstrated after a match, whether it was a win or a loss for India, showed how a good leader should react to wins and losses for his company in the marketplace."

Amid pandemic and despite the crisis, Infosys has managed to gain a strong growth with a stable board and management.
