India's leading IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced that it has seen a surge in demand for its services and expects to hire 10,000 individuals in the US by 2022.
So far, TCS has hired over 21,500 employees in the past five years in the US.
Meanwhile, the software firm in a statement said; "TCS has been among the top two US recruiters of IT services talent, hiring more than 21,500 employees in the past five years alone. With technology emerging as central to US enterprises' ability to respond and recover from the pandemic, TCS has seen a surge in demand for its services."
"To support this growth, the company expects to recruit an additional 10,000 individuals in the US by 2022," the statement added.
Looking into the hiring and growth process in the US, Indian IT firms have significantly increased hiring and other international markets as foreign countries have taken steps to tighten their work visa regimes. So far, TCS' consolidated headcount stood at 4,53,540 as of September 30, 2020, with a diverse workforce comprising 147 nationalities.
Taking a note of the market structure, the company clocked 3.6 percent sequential growth in revenue to USD 2.7 billion in the September 2020 quarter from the North America market that accounts for about half of the quarter's topline.
According to Business Standard reports, TCS has been titled as a Superbrand in the US based on brand reputation, business performance, industry-leading job creation, scale of employee training and development, and dedication to nationwide corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Meanwhile, TCS has also been investing in local communities across the US, which focuses on education and wellness. "Our sustained investments in local talent development and in creating co-innovation ecosystems and infrastructure have significantly enhanced our brand and made us the preferred partner for leading US corporations in their growth and transformation journeys," TCS Chairman of North America Surya Kant said.
