IT Giants TCS, Infosys, HCL and Wipro Plan 'Lateral Entry' of Employees in Next 3 Months! - Details
Home > News Shots > Business newsAs the Indian IT Giants have been facing problems due to the on-going global pandemic, hiring has slowed down. However, a list of new ITeS have announced that they are commencing lateral hiring.
IT companies are retaining fewer employees as a large number of employees are quitting their jobs. Hence, the demand for hiring has increased now.
These companies are taking in freshers who began working before the pandemic’s on-set. They are likely to undergo training. However, these companies are currently looking at lateral hires in order to block the gaps in human resources. Almost, throughout various departments in each of the ITeS, people have resigned, thereby increasing the opportunity for those with experience to find a job. Wipro’s Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) says, “We will continue to hire in Q2 based on demand.”
HCL Technology’s CHRO says, “The downward trend in attrition continues. Expected to continue in the next quarter as well. Attrition has significantly come down but we will not be hiring significant numbers for immediate replacement.”
TCS’s CEO, Rajesh Gopinathan says, “We decided to open up on the lateral hiring side and have started on-boarding new associates into the TCS ecosystem.” TCS has been filling up around 4,500 positions by reskilling, cross-skilling and multiskilling with the company’s existing employees, reported Business Insider.
Infosys has also been reporting a significant increase in attrition. Hence, they are also looking to fill positions via lateral hiring.
