Amazon Announces New Programme To Create Job Opportunities In 35 Indian Cities - Details!
Home > News Shots > Business newsAs a sigh of relief amid the COVID-19 crisis, Amazon India announced the expansion of its 'Amazon Flex' delivery programme to over 35 cities in the country.
This programme will create numerous part time job opportunities for individuals who want to deliver Amazon packages in part-time. Currently, the online ordering has gone up in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, so with this rise, the global delivery program will help Amazon scale up its delivery services.
Speaking about this new venture, Amazon India stated that this program “aims at creating part time work opportunities where individuals can create their own work schedule and earn Rs. 120 to Rs. 140 per hour”. Not just that, the e-commerce giant also recently opened up on vacancies for 50,000 temporary jobs after India saw a sudden surge for home delivery amid the crisis.
“Amazon Flex partners enjoy the part time opportunity to earn more, especially at this time when the country is economically recovering from the impact of the nationwide lockdown,” Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Transportation, Amazon India, said in a statement.
So far, this program, which was launched in June last year, has created opportunities for students, homemakers and individuals to work part time.
"Amazon Flex has so far started in just three cities and the company has added 32 cities in the span of a year. These cities are also inclusive of non-metro cities such as Raipur, Hubli, Gwalior and Nashik among others," He added.
