It has been confirmed by Tata Motors that only one Nano was produced on June 1 this year. While 275 Nanos were sold in June last year, the number was reduced to just one this year. Tata informed that if the trend continues, it cannot go beyond 2019.

The world's cheapest car, Nano was inaugurated in 2008 and will come to an end after completing 10 years. Reportedly, Nano's failure to sell is the only exception in the market for vehicles. Sale of almost every other vehicle, including motorbikes, cars and SUVs have seen growth.

Tata, however, remains hopeful. A spokesperson of the group reportedly said that they will need fresh investments to survive.
