One of the major concerns for KXIP remains to be the absence of proper all-rounder. In the earlier editions Punjab's decision to get Mandeep Singh in exchange of Marcus Stoinis did not benefit them.

Punjab's options including Moises Henriques and Sam Curran also failed to fill the place of an ideal all-rounder. Therefore reports say that KXIP might target James Neesham in the 2020 auction.
