Not long ago, there was a time in the Malayalam film industry, when soft porn adult films were doing well in Kerala and main stream Malayalam cinema was in desperate need of a blockbuster. Newbie director Vinu Joseph's Rosapoo tells the story of Shahjahan (Biju Menon), a failed businessman and his friends, who decide to make an adult film as a shortcut to richdom. Shajahan's friend Banu (Basil Joseph), an MBA graduate advises him on new business ideas, one after the other. Banu is the one who directs Shajahan and his buddy Ambrose (Neeraj Madhav), who always dreamt of becoming a director, to the soft porn industry. Produced by Shibu Thameens, Rosapoo has Anjali, Soubin Shahir, Alancier and Sudheer Karamana in the lead roles.

The film, touted to be an outright comedy flick is a family entertainer that according to the director, "can be viewed without parental guidance". Be it insane misadventures or funny characters, Rosapoo has all the ingredients to please the audience.

The director is in charge of the screenplay as well and has co-written the dialogues with established screenwriter Santhosh Aechikkanam. As the screenplay progresses, unfortunately it (***WHAT LOSES******) loses the tight grip and the film slowly starts drifting into a zone that might not tickle everyone. Predictability, lack of conviction of characters and continuity concerns, are some of the drawbacks that dims down the film.

Cinematography by Jebin Jacob is decent and boasts of a few good and beautiful frames, but might come across as average if you are looking for extra influential camera work. Sushin Shyam's music is a big positive and plays an important role in lifting the mood of the film.

The screenplay is brimming with humour, but unfortunately a lot of words have been censored. Biju Menon, the newly crowned Comedy King is the factor that lifts an otherwise average film to a watchable one. Soubin Shahir brings in a lot of energy as the 'production controller Sajeer' and delivers some of the best counter dialogues in the film. Neeraj Madhav, Alancier, Sudheer Karamana deliver decent performances. Dileesh Pothan and Salim Kumar do not have much to do with their cameos. Anjali has an important space in the screenplay and has neatly played the role of an adult film lead actress.
