Critically-acclaimed movie ‘Chola’ is all set to release on December 6. The movie is co-produced by Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj, along with Joju George. Prior to its release, the movie was premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, where it was appreciated by the movie lovers.
The film is directed by Sanal Kumar Sashidharan. The director is known for his unique style of filmmaking — which has often been widely discussed during various film festivals. Sanal on Thursday wrote an emotional note on his journey as a director and his association with Joju George, the male lead of ‘Chola’.
In his Facebook account, the director wrote, "I thank everybody who stood with me during the start of my debut movie — ‘Oralpokkam". Talking about the grand release of ‘Chola’, Sanal said, without the effort taken by Joju George, the movie would not have got a big release. Speaking more about the discussions on the distribution process of the movie, the director said, "it was Dimal Dennis (Valiyaperunnal fame), who asked to show the movie to Karthik Subbaraj".
Sanal said, Karthik was confident about the movie after watching it and decided to do the movie in Tamil also. He said, with this movie, he was also able to meet many others in the industry. The director also said that, ‘it’s the heroic act of Joju, who loves cinema and people involved with cinema, which made ‘Chola’ get a grand release in about 100 theatres. The movie, which belongs to the thriller genre has Nimisha Sajayan and Akhil Viswanath in major roles.
