HOUSEFULL 3 MOVIE REVIEW

Sajid Nadiadwala’s third addition to his franchise, Housefull 3 has retained players such as Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Boman Irani in the team. New key players include the glamorous trio of Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon opposite Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh respectively. Jackie Shroff makes a vital appearance in the second half. Songs have been composed by Mika Singh, Tanishk Bagchi, Sharib Sabri and Sohail Sen. The film has been penned down and directed by Sajid-Farhad duo.

Boman Irani, a rich tycoon based in London has three daughters, whom he adamantly refuses to marry off. The three daughters, however, have a boyfriend each. There is another trio vying for the daughters’ hands in wedlock. And thus the camera’s field of vision seems to be housefull throughout the movie. What takes the movie forward is the real reason behind Boman Irani’s reluctance to get his daughters married off. Another major plot point proves to be the introduction of Jackie Shroff. The movie then progresses without concealing any twists and covers up predictability with comic stratagem. The inner motives of each character forms the plain cake beneath the cream.

The writer cum director duo have done a decent job in painting each character with necessary comic caricature paramount for the movie's engagement. There are some references to real life where the writers take a jibe at some of the leads that adds mirth. One liners are prominent in the film, but there are occasions where one might feel like telling the makers “If it worked once, it doesn’t mean it will work the next instant also.” Some of the jokes featured in the film might bring a mild remembrance of those found in social media and could be seen inducing mixed reaction among the audience. While the movie might make many smile or grin, it could be reported as rarely influencing superlative emotions such as LOL or ROFL, which is much expected of the film's genre. 

Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh have given a flawless performance, which can be aptly termed as entertaining. There is no full stop for glamour in the film since the trio of Jacqueline, Nargis and Lisa sizzle with cute performances. The most seems to have been made out of Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff’s expertise. The songs are served palatably and the visuals are top notch.

The biggest weakness of Housefull 3 is the predictablity, same old template of its prequel and dim-witted comedy which wont work for every one.
