BAAGHI 3 CAST & CREW

Production: Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
Cast: Shraddha Kapoor, Tiger Shroff
Direction: Ahmed Khan

Mission Impossible? Tell it to the birds may well have been the refrain of Tiger Shroff as he singlehandedly does the demolition job to wriggle out his brother from a bunch of bad elements.

Inspired by the Madhavan-starrer Vettai, where the timid character was bailed out of the mess by his friend, this is a special one for Tiger. Indeed, his father Jackie Shroff could well be proud of the workload which sits so well and easily on those masculine shoulders of Tiger.

The franchises have seen Tiger sport a new avatar, taking delight in bashing all and sundry, with the confidence of the one who has smelled the win and going for the kill. A one-liner where Ronnie (Tiger) sets out to rescue Vikram at faraway Syria is good enough for director Ahmed Khan to pack enough punches in the masala-drenched offering, enhanced a great deal by the sharp English translation. A sample where Tiger thunders that he will remain a mute spectator if he is hit but will turn into a monster even if someone dares to touch his brother with a bargepole.

Understandably, there is little scope for Shraddha Kapoor but she plays her part to the hilt, the summer short skirts going well with the mood of the plot and the anticipation level of her growing legion of fans. There are too many bad elements in the contented package, the pick being Jameel Khoury.

Evidently, a lot of thrust has been on the unending action sequences. Mention must be made of the three renowned action directors in the form of Ramu Chella, Lokshman Chella and Kecha Kham Padkee. By Tiger's own admission, very little of VFX effects were in place, the pick being the one where the actor and the actress run an actual minefield defying gravity in the razor-sharp sequences. A mindboggling shot involves a good 90-plus blasts together, showcasing the merits of the movie seen on a par with the Best of Hollywood.

The support to the big names emerges from Ankita Lokhande, Danish Bhat, Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat not to forget the cameo of Satish Kaushik as the head of law force. Save for the climactic act, one finds a subdued Riteish Deshmukh, happy to have played the second fiddle, allowing his senior partner to have much of the strike, as in the game of cricket.

Come what may, hook or by crook, Tiger has to save his brother. The makers could have taken the nod to have the title `Bhai Ho To Aisa' of the 70s where Shatrughan Sinha and the `Jumping Jack' Jeetendra combined for the best results.

Only three songs in the movie are fine, each good enough to ring in the relief at the appropriate moment. ` Bhankas', a remake of the Bappi Lahiri cult classic, 'Ek Aankh Maaru' ('Tohfa', 1984) retains the charm thanks to the recreational powers of Tanishk Bagchi to the voices of the legends, Kishore Kumar-Asha Bhonsle.

The much-hyped `Do You Love Me', a take-off from a Lebanese track, gets the lavish boost by a rampaging Disha Patani, ideally placed when the plot thickens and the bashers getting at each other's throat.

As the bottom line, how much the characters love each other has been brought out with finesse by the production house. With Tiger in such a form, a fourth franchise could well be in the air. That the actor in him has grown leaps and bounds from the Heropanti days is good news for Bollywood. To say that the Tiger has roared could still be an understatement.

Verdict: Baaghi 3 sees Tiger Shroff in great form in a well-served Bollywood masala, which might just be the perfect summer fix the doctor ordered.
