The controversies surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati have taken an extreme and dirty turn, with a fringe group now having publicly offered a bounty Rs. 1 crore to burn Deepika Padukone alive, according to reports.
Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM)'s youth wing leader Bhuvneshwar Singh has reportedly said, "Deepika should know how it feels like to be burnt alive. The actress will never know the sacrifice of the queen. We demand that office-bearers of the organization be shown the movie before it is released."
Members of the party also burnt over a hundred effigies of Deepika and Bhansali at Damodar Swarup park. They have submitted a memorandum to the district collector of Bareilly, demanding a ban on the release of the movie.
