Debutante directors Khusboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla directed an English-Hindi documentary based on anti-corruption protests. The documentary portrays Anna Hazare as the face of protesting head against anti-corruption and resulted in the birth of the Aam Aadmi Party. Later, Arvind Kejriwal becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi.
The documentary was initially screened to CBFC for certification. A team headed by Phalj Nihalani asked the producers of the documentary to get NOC from PM Modi, Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, and Kejriwal and to submit the NOC to the officials, after which the board would certify the film.
Producers then went a step ahead and spoke to staff members of Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) regarding the issue. The latest we get to hear from reports is that FCAT has stated that there is no need of NOC's as the core principle of a documentary is to portray the actual significance of any happenings and CBFC should certify the film at the earliest.
