Oscar and Grammy winning Indian music director AR Rahman and the celebrated lyricist Prasoon Joshi have collaborated for a song “Hum haar nahi maanenge” that pays tribute to the nation’s fight against COVID-19.
This intention behind this emotional track was to spread hope, positivity and motivation. The song is composed by AR Rahman and the lyrics are penned by Prasoon Joshi.
The track brings together an ensemble of musicians from all over the nation. Artists who were featured in the video: Clinton Cerejo, Mohit Chauhan, Harshdeep Kaur, Mika Singh, Jonita Gandhi, Neeti Mohan, Javed Ali, Sid Sriram, Shruti Haasan, Shashaa Tirupati, Khatija Rahman and Abhay Jodhpurkar. India's percussionist Sivamani, sitarist Asad Khan and bass prodigy Mohini Dey are also a part of the project. The song was released by HDFC Bank on Friday.
AR Rahman took to social media and shared this song. He wrote, “India, Hum Haar Nahi Maanenge! Here's a song of hope & strength -- my collaboration with poet & lyricist Prasoon Joshi, @HDFCBank, and other talented artists from across India.”
