Spiderman: No Way Home is a film written by Chis McKenna and Eric Somers, and directed by Jon Watts. It has a star cast consisting of Tom Holland as Spiderman, and Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Fox, Willem Dafoe, and others. The film is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and Colombia Pictures.

The first ever Spiderman film was released in the early 2000's, a time when most 90's born people hadn't even hit their teens. That is the perfect time to get introduced to superhero films, because you won't be able to rationalize things, at the same time, you're not too young to not understand these films. It is just you getting transported into that fictitious world, just enjoying your favourite superhero save the world, with a bowl of your favourite snack.

Spiderman, one of the most popular characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (mentioned as MCU here on) is back in No Way Home, which is extremely unique, and at the same time, brings in loads of nostalgia. Unlike other Marvel movies where your experience would be better only if you had watched the previous films, this installment of the MCU makes sure you don't face that problem. Even if this is the first MCU film you're watching, the film is structured in a way that you'll understand what happened in the previous Spiderman films.

The uniqueness in the film is not superficial. It is not about how cool Spiderman's costume has become or what new superpowers he's got. The film has a strong emotional base, and it starts questioning the morality of the villains we've seen in the previous Spiderman films. There are five villains and all of them are the most human in this. And that is what makes them the most powerful Spiderman villains we've seen till date.

Usually the superhero films are painted in a way that what the superhero does is always right. In No Way Home, there is a point where our friendly neighborhood superhero is caught amidst an existential crisis, where he questions all his actions as a hero. Is he genuinely doing good for the people, if yes, don't the villains count as 'people'? How many films in the past have had such an angle in it? In fact, this forms the base of the film, until the third act where everything is explosive.

There is a huge surprise in the third act, revealing it might end up as a spoiler, but that surprise is enough for you to stay glued till the end of the film. The stunts get innovative, and the humour kicks in, with every punchline getting loud laughter and applause from the audience. The humour isn't something dark like what we see in Deadpool, or something that's outrageously funny. It is bittersweet in nature, where you laugh and also go 'Awww' at how wholesome the entire scene is.

With respect to the casting, performances, visual effects, music and cinematography, most Marvel movies stand out. Spiderman: No Way Home is no different. In addition, the editing by Jeffrey Ford is the unsung hero, and his cuts in the scenes involving Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is too good, making the audience sit on the edge of their seats. Tom Holland as Spiderman excels in the emotional scenes, and actors like Zendaya, Jacob Batalon nail their characters to the T.

Overall, with stellar visual effects, and high amounts of nostalgia, Spiderman: No Way Home is easily at the top along with some of the best superhero films till date. The mid-credit and post-credit scenes also do enough to hype us for the upcoming MCU films. This spiderman film entertains you from the word go, despite the occasional dip in the pace near the interval. It ends up as a terrific film that can even be watched with your family, and if possible relive your childhood moments.
