As expected, Thala Ajith's Vivegam opened to a shattering response at the Chennai city box office. The film has grossed a massive sum of Rs 5.2 crores from its four days opening weekend.

This is a grand opening, and Vivegam now sets a new benchmark. It is the first film to collect five crores in Chennai over one weekend. Thanks to the hike in ticket price. The previous highest was Kabali which collected 3.5 crores from 3 days.
