Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum is a story about the relationship between a father and his son. What are the differences that arise between them? How do they solve those? Do they overcome these to understand each other is what forms the rest of the story?
The screenplay is dispersed with a few comic moments that work in patches. With a crux that revolves around father son relationship we are exposed to the regular dosage of the sentimental flow. The songs hinder the pace of the movie especially in the first half. The pre interval sequence is good and one might feel that the director could have taken lesser time to arrive at this portion. The cinematography somehow holds up but at places we feel it could have been better. A crisper editing might have trimmed out extraneous unwanted moments.
Kudos to the director for not only taking up a brave experimental venture but attempting his best to be sincere to it. He has made us think about and connect to the troubles that the father- son duo faces. Applauds to him for taking up such a template and trying to present it using an honest approach.
Overall, Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum is a decent experiment that would have worked better if the director had focussed a tad more on the pace. The film requires a few patchworks here and there but it is still a fair attempt from a debut director.
