After the innovative and unique Kathai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam, the film without a story, Parthiban has come up with yet another creative movie, this time, a film with mistakes, Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga (KIN).

The film deals with the lives of three people, Kevin (Shanthnu), Rangaraj (Parthiban) and Mohini (Parvathy Nair), who live together in a cottage house. Revealing more than this about the plot can be a spoiler and hence we aren't going to divulge more about this. You might have seen films on this similar kind of plot, but this one keeps you expecting to be different with the way it was narrated. Watch out for the last twenty minutes especially, which might change your perspective about the film.

This film will be an important one in Shanthnu’s acting career as he has given his mature best. His expressions convey varied emotions. Shanthnu’s suave dance moves in Damukutlaan song is a treat to watch, but the placement or the need for that song is questionable. Parvathy Nair is seductive, and her role is a bold one, but she doesn’t make a significant impact.

Thambi Ramaiah’s humor works at very few places. Parthiban, as usual, has given a neat performance. His innocent look, body language, and behavior throughout the film are good to watch. There’s no character description for Simran’s role, and the clarity is missing about how she is related to Shanthnu. Even if you remove her character from the film, the plot or the film’s impact remains the same.

The film has a complex story which might have gone wrong if it had been handled without care. But Parthiban has cleverly handled the plot with his own trademark quirky touches. You can find quite a few double meaning dialogues in the film, which might not go well with everyone. Apart from that, you can find many enjoyable Parthiban touches in the dialogues department. There are a few sensuous and intimate scenes in the film which are aesthetically shot.

Though the film's runtime is 124 minutes, the slow pace of the movie is a concern. The film’s certification is justifiable, given the plot and subject to be an adult and complex one. The initial horror moments are uninteresting and add no value to the plot leading to temporary distraction about the genre. Likewise, there are few dull moments in the second half, which gives you the feel that the scissors could’ve been used better to make the film much crispier.

Arjun Jena’s camera work is appealing and appreciable while Sathya’s background score gives ample support to the movie. Vijai Murugan’s artwork is commendable, and it gels along well with Arjun’s visuals. Only a few directors have the knack to handle this kind of scripts and Parthiban is one such. His take on modern day girls might not be well received or accepted by all. KIN is a bold attempt from Parthiban yet again. His wordplay with the film’s tagline (a film with mistakes) justifies the film’s core plot, but as a whole, the film finds it hard to engage the audience.

Verdict: Just the climax alone cannot change the impact made by the rest of the movie.

Album Release Date : Dec 05,2016

Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga is an upcoming entertainer starring Shanthanu and Parvathy Nair in lead roles. Music for the film is composed by Sathya.

En Oruthiye

Singer: SriramaChandra
Lyrics: Kabilan

The album gets a headstart with a trendy number adept in acoustic guitar, trance beats and stylish vocals by Sriramachandra. His vocals has an interesting blend of modernity along with folk flavors. The interludes are entertaining with a Sitar solo in the midst of Hip-Hop beats. The song also has a Jazzy touch which is not overdone at any point of time.

KiluKilu Payaai

Singer: SriramaChandra
Lyrics: Radhakrishnan Parthiban

A quirky number arrives next which again is rendered by Sriramachandra with perfect ease and mastery. The song is quite stylish and cosmopolitan in the presentation and the live drumming along with riveting guitar does the job quite well. The song has a lazed out American Country flavor associated with it and  also a sweet sounding native essence as well.  It sounds quite fresh and appealing throughout its progress.

Wifeh Lovvu

Singer: Malaysia Ganesan, Bhagyaraj
Lyrics: Radhakrishnan Parthiban

The composer takes a detour to a funky Jazz fusion number with Tamil folk and also has a tinge of hilarity. Malaysia Ganeshan’s sultry vocals are quite good and the lyrics do complete justice to the genre. The guitars take a fun take on Carnatic Raaga Naatai in the so called Classic Rock style. The icing on the cake arrives in the form of indigenous beats.

Damukaatlaan Dumukaatalaa

Singer: T.Rajendar
Lyrics: Logan

The high energy is sustained with another peppy number comprising of interesting chord progression and the entertaining vocals of T.Rajendar. The song attempts to strike a balance between Hip-Hop beats and Tamil folk but the contemporary flavors are heard in more intensity throughout. The electronica sounds dominate the whole composition with effortless ease.

Na Re Na

Singer: Kharesm a Ravichandran
Lyrics: Madhan Karky

An introspective number has quite stylish vocals of Khareshma Ravichandran with mild trance beats and stylish chord progression. Madhan Karky’s lyrics are quite poetic and at the same time appeals to the younger audience well. The composition exhibits many shades right from love to impending danger in the so called musical fashion. The song is entirely taken forward by the stupendous vocal rendition by Khareshma.

Vaa Jannal

Singer: Sriram Parthasarathy
Lyrics: Muthamil

The finale strikes with a laid back jazzy folk number sung by Sriram Parthasarathy who is adept in such laid back compositions. There is a breathtaking tinge of classicism in the lead tune which is the highlight. The chord progression is quite brilliant for the unknown realms it takes the listener to. The amazing strings is another masterstroke by the composer. The angry sounding electric guitar gives a different shade to the composition.

Verdict: Koditta Nirangalai Nirapuga is an out and out classy album where experimentation and new sounding takes a front seat!
