If there's one film about a bus that 90s kids remember the most, it is 'Sundhara Travels'. Released in the year 2002, the comedy movie starred Murali, Vadivelu and Radha in lead roles while Vasu, Sabitha Anand, and Vinu Chakravarthy appear in supporting roles.
Vadivelu and Murali make use of the bus - that can be almost compared to trash - to their maximum and go through their everyday lives, to the extent of making a running shower, installing a mixie to hosting a live dance show inside the bus. The movie is a remake of their Malayalam film 'Ee Parakkum Thalika' (2001).
In addition to the classic appearance of the bus that has a broken gear, steering and passenger seats, 'Sundhara Travels' can also billow smoke that can blacken the passerby in a jiffy. Who can forget the scene where Vadivelu chases a rat everywhere with a broken gear from the bus because it ate his passport or how Murali and Vadivelu chase each other and the ace-comedian hides under a lampshade? Just the primary title song is enough to stir up all nostalgia associated with the characters and the bus.
Remember the 'Mappillai make-up' scene where Vadivelu and Murali dump talcum powder on the groom inorder to take him into their bus? Ah, good times right? Behindwoods took a trip down the memory lane and found the bus after nearly 20 years! To our surprise, it still looks the same - the broken gear, steering, seats and everything remains the same as it is. Watch the VIDEO below to rekindle your memories! Dont miss!
