Director Venkat Prabhu is one of the biggest directors in the Tamil film industry. He directed Ajith's 50th film 'Mankatha' (2011) which went on to become a blockbuster and is regarded as one of the actor's best performances till date. The movie had an ensemble cast that included actors Arjun, Premgi, Vaibhav, Trisha, Raai Laxmi, Mahat, Ashwin Kakumanu and Anjali.
Although there were a lot of speculations on making a sequel for the superhit movie, the idea never took form and was released officially. Today (august 24) he took to Twitter to reply to a media tracker that asked: "Name a film that deserves an immediate sequel.". He replied "Mankatha" and added an emoji.
This led to a huge buzz among Thala fans on Twitter whether the idea of a sequel with the 'Valimai' star is coming together soon. But official information regarding the same is yet to be announced by the makers. Like 'Venkat Prabhu's game,' we may have to wait and watch.
Thala Ajith is currently working on his 60th film 'Valimai' with Director H Vinoth'. The most-anticipated film of this year stars Huma Qureshi, Pearle Maaney, Yogi Babu and Kartikeya Gummakonda. Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu is awaiting the release of 'Kasada Thapara', a hyperlink film that is directed by Chimbu Devan. The 'Chennai 600028' director is producing this film which releases on August 27 on OTT platform Sony LIV. Venkat Prabhu also has Silambarasan TR's 'Maanaadu' up for release soon.
