Vijay Antony's blockbuster hit movie 'Pichaikkaran' which was released in the year 2016, garnered great reviews during the time of release and went on to create a record by crossing 'Baahubali' in the world TV premiere score for South Indian films. The movie was also one of the highest grossing movies of 2016 in Tamil cinema.
The makers, who are currently working on the sequel of the film titled 'Pichaikkaran 2', started the shoot of the movie from yesterday (September 1) with a customary pooja ceremony. The movie marks the directorial debut of the Music Director-turned-Actor.
The movie launch, which was held in a simple manner that had the presence of 17 directors who graced the occasion. SA Chandrashekar, Radha Ravi, YG Mahendran, Directors Sasi (Pichaikkaran), Pradeep Krishnamoorthy (Saithan), G Srinivasan (Annadurai), Ganeshaa (Thimiru Pudichavan), Naveen (Agni Siragugal), Ananda Krishnan (Kodiyil Oruvan), Balaji K Kumar, Dhananjayan, Fefsi Siva, Kamal Bohra, Siddharth, B Pradeep and few more prominent celebrities were present.
While director SA Chandrashekhar lit the auspicious Kuthu Vizhakku, director Sasi switched on the camera, and director Vijay Milton tapped the clapboard for the first shot. 'Pichaikkaran 2' is produced by Fatima Vijay Antony of Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
Meanwhile, Vijay Antony has 'Kodiyil Oruvan' directed by Ananda Krishnan of 'Metro' fame up for theatrical release on September 17. The film has actress Aathmika playing the female lead. Apart from that he also has 'Thamezharasan', 'Agni Siragugal', and 'Khaki' in various stages of production.
