Just when Vijay Deverakonda's Arjun Reddy is receiving rave reviews from the critics and public, a certain section of women organizations including Andhra Pradesh Mahila Samakhya (APMS), Andhra Pradesh Mahila Congress (APMC), and National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW), have started to protest against the film.
The above said women organizations have reportedly gathered and staged protests outside a particular theatre in Hyderabad yesterday, claiming that the movie (Arjun Reddy), should be banned. They have apparently placed the request to the Chief Minister, N.Chandrababu Naidu.
APMS President and NFIW, AP General Secretary, P.Durga Bhavani, apparently said that this movie is promoting the culture of dating among the audience and encourages the use of drugs. "We have seen the movie and found it objectionable. I would like to ask the producers and directors of the movie if they want to promote dating culture during college life among the students. Screening of the movie should be immediately stopped.", she said.
Padmasri Sunkara of APMC has reportedly said that "The movie encourages drugs and such films will only cause harm to society".
