Actor turned Politician Vijayakanth, who is the President of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), posted a video online where he was seen crying his heart out after Karunanidhi passed away yesterday. The video also has Vijayakanth's wife Premalatha Vijayakanth delivering her condolence message to the family, party members of DMK and people of Tamil Nadu.

Karunanidhi was admitted in Kauvery hospital on July 28 and after a 11-day long battle against various illnesses, breathed his last at 6:10 pm. His body has been kept at Rajaji Hall for the public to visit and pay their homage to the DMK Leader.

He was also known for his literary works as he had written a lot of books, poems, short stories, and dialogues and screenplay for films.
