When people started playing the Mersal Match Meter game, it was revealed that one, out of the three Vijay characters, plays a student.

Looking back at Vijay's filmography, Shankar's directorial Nanban was the last film in which Thalapathy played a college student. After a gap of 6 years, he has yet again become a student in Mersal. We presume that doctor Vijay might be a medical student, however we'd get to know about it only on the 18th of October.
