There were a few reports stating that Thalapathy Vijay's Makkal  Iyakkam failed and cheated an aspiring student Rangeela, whom they promised to support her with finance to pursue her education.
 

However, the latest official statement has come from Ariyalur District Vijay Makkal Iyakkam about the issue. As per the statement, it has been clarified that Mr.Jose Prabhu, who was expelled from the club a few months ago, had given false promises to the girl Rangeela. The Welfare club members had come to know about this issue only recently, who have taken up the responsibility for the girl now.

M.Siva, the leader of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, Ariyalur, in the statement, had said that VMI would take up the false promise made by Jose Prabhu, to help the girl's education. This statement from the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam has been trending on the social media, for their humble gesture.
